||
|
Thames Valley Police are aware of ongoing concerns regarding the use of e-scooters and associated anti-social behaviour (ASB) in and around Stonesfield. What we’re seeing: Riding e-scooters on public roads, pavements, and footpaths (outside authorised trial schemes). Dangerous or inconsiderate riding, including excessive speed and near-misses with pedestrians and vehicles Use of e-scooters linked to nuisance behaviour in public spaces. Privately owned e-scooters are currently illegal to use on: Public roads, pavements and cycle paths. They are only permitted on private land with the landowner’s permission. What we’re doing: Conducting high-visibility patrols, engaging with young people and parents and taking enforcement action where appropriate (including seizure of vehicles under S165 Road Traffic Act). What you can do: Report ASB incidents via 101 or online: https://www.thamesvalley.police.uk In an emergency or if there is immediate danger, always call 999 Speak to us – your local neighbourhood team is here to help Advice for parents/guardians: Please ensure children understand: The legal restrictions on e-scooter use, the importance of respecting others in shared spaces and that misuse can lead to police action and seizure. We have also become aware that these occurrences may have been captured on video and posted in a local group on a popular social media site. If this is the case could the person who originally captured the video please contact a PCSO at Woodstock Police Station. Thank you.
